Hi all!

I just wanted to remind you of the *Defcon AI competition* at the IEEE CIG
2009 in Milano (7th-10th September 2009).
As the conference is nearing, I have to set a deadline for the competition.
It will be Sunday, *23rd of August, 23:59*.

Please consider taking part in it, as there is a cash-price associated with
the first place (however, I think you have to attend the conference to get
the actual price, I will confirm that). And, of course, a lot of prestige
;-)

To remind you, here's a wrap-up of the competition format:

Each bot plays 30 matches against each other bot, in a series of one-on-one
> matches with bots playing in each of the possible starting territory
> configurations. The game will run on a limited-information mode (i.e., bots
> cannot see units hidden by the fog of war) and the victory timer will start
> no later than 4 hours into the game (additionally to the usual game ending
> conditions). For each match, the resulting score (standard rules: 2*kills –
> own casualties) is recorded for each player. In the end, the player with the
> highest cumulative score wins.

As usual, people are shy to submit early, so I only have a very limited
number submissions for now. Consider writing your own bot, the source code
of the original Introversion bot supplied on my project page (
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~rb1006/projects:api ) should give you enough to
start with. Maybe some little tweaking there will be enough to make your bot
the best ...

Also, if you intent to take part, please let me know, as the conference
organizers want some idea how many submissions there will be.

Happy coding,
Robin
